Zinfandel Residence

Sited in the middle of a St Helena vineyard this modern farmhouse is slightly elevated to take advantage of the spectacular views through the expansive aluminum sash windows. Grassi collaborated with Wagstaff Architects and interior designer Nicole Hollis on the sustainable project. Massive, cantilevered pilasters flank the front and back entryways. Rammed earth and concrete walls reflect the nuanced color of the terrain. On the interior, Archie Held's dramatic metal sculpture centers the 4,932 sq ft residence. Polished concrete floors, artisan concrete countertops, and tiles reference the exterior materials.
