Off the Grid
Grassi worked with TGH Architects for this unique project while their creative clients designed the interiors and landscaping. Sited on 80 acres overlooking Napa Valley, the property includes vineyards, fruit tree orchards, an extensive olive grove, and vegetable gardens. A metal butterfly roof with plate steel soffits surmounts the home’s stone and plaster walls with Fleetwood glazed windows and doors. The flagstone flooring on the exterior patios continues inside, where it combines with white oak casework. Geothermal heating and cooling and photovoltaic electricity create a residence that is essentially off the grid.
